Red, white and blue:
Georgia flag 1879-1902
In
1879, the General Assembly of Georgia passed legislation
-- sponsored by a Confederate veteran -- changing the
flag. The law called for a vertical band of blue
occupying one third of the flag nearest the staff and the
remainder divided into three horizontal bands -- the
upper and lower bands in red and the middle in white. |
